Entrepreneurial Ideas

Entrepreneurial Ideas Need a Plan

Entrepreneurial Ideas start with “The Business plan.”

Every entrepreneur is excited to get started. Entrepreneurial ideas are everywhere. They pop up at some of the most unexpected moments. You come up with your entrepreneurial ideas and then want to jump right in. That is perfectly understandable. The challenge is getting the entrepreneurial ideas from your mind to a viable, functioning business. You may be asking, “How can I make a profit?” or “How do I start a business?”

The number one mistake that new entrepreneurs make is failing to formulate a specific and well thought out business plan. There is no substitute. What is a business plan? How do I write a business plan? All great questions for any entrepreneur.

A Plan is a Requisite

Taking your entrepreneurial ideas from thought to action takes careful planning. You have formulated a concept. You are sure that everybody will want your product or service. You may be right. But how are you going to accomplish that?

Start by determining where you are going to be five years from now. If you aren’t thinking five years ahead, you aren’t believing in your own success. So, where will you be? This is not a question of where you “want” to be. Be realistic. Envision yourself in your office. What does it look like? How many employees do you have? Don’t hold back on the details.

Fill in the Details

The more specific you are in envisioning your future the better chance you have of being there. You need a plan to get there. Without a plan, you are going to drift aimlessly.

Every business needs capitol to survive. You need to investigate what it is going to take to turn your entrepreneurial ideas into marketable products or services.
