Helping real estate professionals overcome their challenges and see them become premier producers has been a real blessing for me. The challenges faced by real estate agents, realtors and real estate brokers never seem to totally go away. But the challenges can be, and are, overcome by the premier producers.
It takes a strong sense of confidence to be in business for yourself. There are so many things you have to know, understand and make work for you. Despite the fact that you have to pass a test to get your license to sell real estate, nothing can really prepare you for what you encounter when you start your own business.
Been There and Know It Isn’t Easy
I know just how that feels and I documented a lot of it in my book for people who are just coming out of law school and want to start their own practices. It was written for law school graduates but it may well apply to you, too. It is really just about how to start and run a successful personal service business.
Starting a new business is hard work. I tell my coaching clients that in the very beginning. You can become a success, but only if you are committed to success. If you let your self-doubts rule your thoughts then you are not going to make it.
Re-Frame Your Negative Thoughts
It is perfectly understandable to have doubts. Everybody has them at one time or another. The secret to success lies in not listening to the negative thoughts you have. Instead, through a process called cognitive re-framing or cognitive restructuring, you are able to turn your negative thinking into positive reinforcements. I spend a lot of time with my clients on just that aspect of being a premier producer.
There are so many challenges in being a successful entrepreneur. As a real estate professional you will face each and every one of them. There will be times when you want to quit. There will be time when you wonder where your next lead will come from.
